Opened on 27 May 1962 by the municipality of Esch, the management of Camping Gaalgebierg has been in the hands of the association “Camping Caravanning Club”. since 1967.
The campsite is located in the south of Luxembourg, 400 m above the sea level in a quiet and wooded environment. Nearby you will find the Escher zoo, beautiful natural landscapes and sports fields.

Map Camping Gaalgebierg
On our campsite you will find, in addition to our 150 pitches, spacious tent pitches, sports fields and a playground.
Close to the entrance, opposite our reception are the washrooms and sanitary facilities. Electrical connections are available for each pitch. You are welcome to download the map of the campsite.
Camping History
Gründung des Camping Gaalgebierg
Am 27. Mai 1962 wurde der Campingplatz vom damaligen Bürgermeister Antoine Krier eingeweiht.
Verwaltung „Camping Caravanning Club“
Immer mehr Gäste kamen zum „Camping Gaalgebierg“, sodass der Schöffenrat entschied, die Verwaltung an den „Camping Caravanning Club“ zu übergeben.
Erweiterung des Camping Gaalgebierg
Es stellte sich heraus, dass man zusätzliche Stellplätze benötigte, um den Campingplatz profitabel betreiben zu können. In Eigenregie wurden neue Plätze eingerichtet und die sanitären Anlagen verbessert und ausgebaut.
Neue Investition
2011 wurden 176.948 Euro in das Gebäude der neuen Rezeption investiert. Viel ehrenamtliches Engagement war erforderlich, um das nötige Geld zu erarbeiten.
Our campsite has a long history, and is particularly popular with camping enthusiasts who appreciate a quiet, wooded campsite with spacious pitches, while at the same time offering a wide range of activities.
There is a lot to discover and experience in the region around the campsite! From beautiful hiking routes, over exciting MTB trails, up to a beautiful city trip, there is something for everyone!
Each of our pitches is 80 – 100 m² in size, offers an electrical connection. Free Wifi is of course also available to you as a guest.
On the site itself there is a large children’s playground, beach volleyball, beach badminton and a boules-pétange court. Directly adjacent is the Escher Zoo, which you can visit free of charge.
We value our environment and want to make our contribution. That is why we obtain most of our hot water and electricity from our own thermal and photovoltaic systems. We also attach great importance to clean waste separation through consistent recycling.
Physical well-being is ensured with our heated and barrier-free sanitary facilities. There are washrooms for toddlers and babies and a laundry room with washing machines and dryers.
You will also find a small restaurant and café with terrace directly on the camping site.
If you are interested in visiting the beautiful city of Esch-sur-alzette, you can always take advantage of our free shuttle service. From the train station Esch-sur-alzette you can also easily reach the capital Luxembourg, or the surrounding cities of Metz (France) or Trier (Germany).
